Sauna: A sauna is a space where you can rest in dry heat that can exceed 100 degrees Celsius. Saunas can alleviate pain and improve cardiovascular health. There are numerous types of saunas, like herbal saunas that infuse dry plants with additional health benefits. If it’s your first time using a sauna, you should limit your time to as little as 5 minutes and avoid consuming alcohol beforehand (and never more than 20 minutes).

Steam rooms: Similar to saunas, steam rooms offer a much more humid environment with temperatures as high as 45°C. Steam rooms can enhance circulation, increase skin elasticity, and aid in post-exercise recuperation. Aromas of salt could be added to improve the experience and boost well-being. Consume plenty of non-alcoholic fluids to prevent dehydration, and restrict your time to 15 minutes.

Complementary and alternative treatments: Some spas offer tepidariums, laconicums, and caldariums as alternate or complementary heat therapy services that are less intensive than a sauna or steam room. Consult your physician or spa resort of choice for advice, and be careful to inform spa personnel if you have existing health concerns or have just undergone surgery.

In addition to the thermal spa amenities listed above, your high-end spa resort or short spa vacation may include access to a stunning rooftop outdoor pool, a picturesque spa garden, or a comfortable outdoor hot tub, based on the venue and plan you select. 

If you want to mix your spa time with some physical relaxation, you can choose a luxury spa with a variety of fitness and wellness classes and a state-of-the-art fitness center.

In addition to the superior spa facilities, your plan could include a variety of opulent spa treatments provided by the most prestigious product houses. Some luxury spa resorts provide specialized treatments, like sports massage. 

Many of the high-end spa treatments include fantastic extras, like lunch with a glass of champagne or a gift bag filled with spa delights. Therefore, you can don your ultra-comfortable slippers and robe, leave the outside world behind, and indulge yourself in luxury.

If it is your first visit to the spa, you will probably be asked to fill out a health questionnaire upon arrival at reception. To help you to start unwinding as soon as possible, a staff member may request that you remove your socks and shoes and slip your feet into a set of slippers. After your sessions are complete, you can use the fitness and health facilities included in your package to spend the remainder of your stay at the spa resort. You may choose to use the pool, unwind in the relaxation area, detox in the sauna, or work up a sweat in the fitness center.

Based on the availability of personnel and rooms, you may be able to schedule additional spa treatments late in the day. To manage expectations and save money, it is strongly recommended that you book treatments in addition to those included in your package well in advance of your trip to the spa resort.

While you are free to leave whenever you like, many spas require their visitors to sign out at the front desk before departure for fire safety and to confirm all charges have been settled. After departing from the spa resorts, you may also like to tour the surrounding activities and landmarks.

As part of your time at the spa resort, you may enjoy a complimentary glass of champagne and/or a light lunch or dinner, based on the package and the method of spa chosen. If these amenities are not included, you can pay extra to enjoy an alcoholic beverage, a traditional meal in the spa’s bar or restaurant, or afternoon tea, if available.

Before you depart the spa, you might well be asked if you are interested in getting digital copies of the products used during your treatments, or if you’d like to become a permanent member of a club spa. You will not be the first or the last guest to decline these upsells, so you should not feel compelled to buy.

Water has several health benefits. Therefore, we recommend that you try massage, aromatherapy, hydrotherapy, or reflexology in the spas so that you may recharge your cells and forget yourself in a unique atmosphere.
